Pinoys Warned: Stay Away from Danger Zones in Cambodia, Thailand

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — Something serious is happening near the Cambodia-Thailand border, and the Philippine Embassy is telling all Filipinos living in those areas:
“Stay away from danger zones!”

According to reports, soldiers from Cambodia and Thailand had a fight, and sadly, 20 people have already died, while over 130,000 people had to leave their homes. 😟 The fight happened because Thailand accused Cambodia of putting landmines in an area both countries are arguing about. Cambodia said they didn’t do it, and claimed those landmines were from a war many years ago.

Because things are getting more intense, Thailand even declared martial law in eight border towns — that means soldiers are now in charge of keeping order there.

🛑 PH Embassy Issues Urgent Warning
The Philippine Embassy in Cambodia quickly released a strong warning for all Filipinos near the border:

Stay far away from areas where there are military operations.
Avoid going near army camps or soldiers.
Always check the news for updates.
Follow all instructions from the government and local authorities.

They also asked Pinoys to tell the embassy where they are and how they’re doing, especially those living in Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear, two provinces right next to Thailand.

📞 Need Help? Here’s How to Reach the Embassy:

✍️ If you live in the border areas, the embassy also wants you to fill out a survey so they know how to help you faster.

🇵🇭 Philippines Calls for Peace
Back in Manila, the Philippine government said it hopes Cambodia and Thailand will settle the issue peacefully and follow international laws, instead of fighting.

The embassy said they are closely watching the situation and are ready to help any Filipino who is in danger or needs assistance.

This is a serious time. If you are a Filipino in Cambodia, especially near the Thailand border — stay alert, stay safe, and keep in touch with the embassy. Your safety comes first! ❤️‍🩹🇵🇭
