The Department of Education (DepEd) has just launched a powerful new program called Generation HOPE—a mission to finally close the country’s classroom shortage.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara shared the vision with heartfelt words:
“With the help of HOPE and our private partners, we want to prove that when the public and private sectors unite, we can truly make sure that no child is left behind in education.”
It’s more than just a project—it’s a promise.
Angara went on to say:
“Let us keep planting these seeds of hope in every space where a child dares to dream. Because in Bagong Pilipinas, hope is not something we wait for—it’s something we build together.”
The launch was made possible through a strong partnership with HOPE and leading local brands that share the same dream: giving every Filipino child a safe and decent place to learn.
A Classroom Built to Last
Each HOPE classroom is designed with care:
-
7-by-9 meter size with strong foundations to endure harsh weather.
-
Big windows and a cathedral-style ceiling for cooler airflow.
-
Wall fans, a teacher’s table, and a chalkboard for practical use.
-
And most importantly, a toilet, ensuring students and teachers feel safe and comfortable.
How HOPE Makes It Possible
Generation HOPE directs 100% of its profits—from products like Hope in a Bottle and Hope in a Box—into building classrooms. With the help of private sector partners, this initiative will expand even further, reaching schools in communities that need them the most.
This is more than just infrastructure. It’s about building dreams, one classroom at a time.
