“Hindi Ako Mananahimik” — Marjorie Claps Back at Mom Inday

After weeks of silence, Marjorie Barretto finally speaks.
Her voice — calm but filled with pain — echoes through her heartfelt Instagram post, written after her mother, Inday Barretto, spoke about their strained relationship in a vlog interview with Ogie Diaz.

For Marjorie, the timing couldn’t have been more painful.
The interview came out just days after the first-month death anniversary of her brother, Mito. The family was still grieving — and yet, another storm began.

“A few days ago, on my brother’s first-month death anniversary, an interview of my mom was released,” Marjorie began. “I woke up to frantic calls and messages from loved ones saying my mom said very hurtful and untrue things about me.”

She admitted she was shocked and deeply hurt, especially hearing her mother say they were not on good terms.

“Was I not taking my mom home from the wake? Was I only dreaming that we were talking, hugging, and comforting each other?” she asked.

Marjorie couldn’t understand why her mother would make such statements — and why now, while their family was still mourning.

“Or am I once again damage control? The Mission: Destroy Marjorie — to make the youngest child look good and clean,” she wrote, her frustration clear.

“I Always Loved and Cared for My Family”

In her long post, Marjorie defended herself against her mother’s claims. She said her love for her family has always been visible — especially through the years she spent bringing everyone together.

“Over the years, through all my Instagram posts, you’ve seen me surrounded by my family,” she said. “I always make sure we are all together at my gatherings.”

She reminded her mother that she had always been part of those family moments.

“In all those photos and videos, have you not seen my mom at our big family events? Was that all just a dream? An illusion of mine?”

Marjorie also responded to her mother’s claim that she was ashamed of her.

“Why would you say that, Mom? You and my siblings know very well that you’ve often asked me not to post photos of us together because Gretchen and Claudine might get upset,” she explained.

According to Marjorie, her mother even asked her not to fix her relationship with her sisters, Gretchen and Claudine, fearing she’d be left behind.

“I Was Punished for Being the Child Who Stayed Strong”

Now 51, Marjorie opened up about years of silent pain — of being misunderstood and sidelined.

“For more than 20 years, I have been punished for being the child who never bothered my parents with problems,” she wrote.
“With my mom, if you are not a problematic child, you become the least favorite.”

She also called out Part 2 of her mother’s interview, saying it was just as “false, unfair, and destructive” as the first.

In that interview, Inday described Marjorie as “strong-willed, sometimes beyond normal” — admitting they didn’t always get along.

“I love her, she knows that,” Inday said. “But sometimes, it feels like I’m not enough for her.”

To this, Marjorie answered with quiet strength:

“Mom, I should not be punished and insulted for being strong-willed. I fought so hard to get to this point. I had no choice.”

“I’ll Pour All My Love Into My Children”

In the end, Marjorie chose peace — and healing.

“Instead of looking for affection and protection from you, I will pour all of my energy into being the best mom to my children,” she said.
“I am not a perfect mom, but they can trust me.”

Her words were met with love.
In the comments section, her children — Dani, Julia, and Leon Barretto — left touching messages of support.

“We will always love you and protect you. No matter what,” wrote Dani.

Through heartbreak and public scrutiny, Marjorie’s message rings clear:
She may be wounded, but she refuses to be broken.
