PH tourism opportunities await bold foreign investors

The Philippines is opening its doors wide — and the world is watching.

At the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco spoke with heart and conviction. She urged foreign investors to grab the opportunity to be part of the country’s booming tourism rise.

She said the Philippines is not just recovering — it is transforming.

A Nation Ready for Growth

Frasco highlighted major reforms and generous incentives under the CREATE MORE Law. These include:

• Tax holidays
• Enhanced deductions
• Import duty exemptions

All designed to support sustainable tourism projects that create jobs and uplift communities.

Under the development agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., she shared, the country is shifting its momentum toward sustainability, resilience, innovation, and a more inclusive future.

Public-private partnerships are also driving progress — from airport upgrades to better infrastructure and improved destinations for travelers.

Tourism That Protects People and Nature

At the opening of the Philippine Pavilion, Frasco stressed that sustainability is not a buzzword for the Philippines — it’s a lifeline.

Typhoons, earthquakes, and other disasters threaten the beauty millions depend on. This is why the government continues to build community-based programs, improve facilities, and introduce tools like hyperbaric chambers in diving spots.

“We pursue tourism that is people-centered and future-centric,” she said. “So future generations can still enjoy the places that make us who we are.”

Renewed Confidence From the World

Philippine Ambassador to the UK Teodoro Locsin Jr. celebrated the strong comeback of the tourism sector. UK tourists returning to the country grew by 5.36%, surpassing the regional trend.

Recovery has now reached nearly 91% — a sign that the world’s love for the Philippines is stronger than ever.

Locsin described this resurgence as a product of collaboration, creativity, and unwavering belief in the country’s future.

Showcasing the Philippines’ Best

Visitors at the WTM pavilion got a taste of the Philippines’ unmatched beauty:

• Boracay and Palawan’s iconic beaches
• Cebu, Iloilo, and Vigan’s rich heritage
• Highlands of Bukidnon and Benguet
• Diving wonders in Anilao and Tubbataha
• Wellness escapes in Bohol and Camiguin

The message was loud and clear: the Philippines is ready to welcome the world — and ready for those who want to invest in its future.
