MANILA — The Philippines continues to shine on the global stage, earning nine nominations at the prestigious Annual World Travel Awards (WTA), the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced Friday.
According to the DOT, these nominations reinforce the country’s reputation as one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations.
“These nominations reflect the strength of our people’s hospitality, creativity, and resilience, and the world’s continued confidence in the Philippines as a destination of beauty and hope,” said Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.
She added that the recognition is also a call to keep improving infrastructure, connectivity, and accessibility, and urged Filipinos to support and vote for the country.
Categories Highlighting the Philippines’ Best
The Philippines is nominated in three country-level categories:

The DOT itself is also vying for the World’s Leading Tourist Board 2025 title.
Beyond the government awards, at least 16 private tourism establishments across the Philippines are also nominated in various categories, showcasing the country’s thriving hospitality and tourism industry.
With its natural beauty, rich culture, and resilient people, the Philippines is once again proving that it’s a destination the world can’t ignore.
