IBA, Zambales — Get ready for a 4-day fun-filled festival that will bring out the best of Zambales, all centered around the famous Dinamulag Mango, also known as the carabao mango. The festival kicks off on May 21 and promises a jam-packed schedule full of exciting events, showcasing not only this delicious fruit but also the hardworking people behind Zambales’ booming mango industry.
🌟 Why Celebrate the Dinamulag Mango?
Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. shared that the festival is not only about celebrating the world’s sweetest mango but also about helping the local mango industry grow. The Dinamulag Mango is a proud product of Zambales, and this festival highlights the province’s efforts to improve mango farming and promote the fruit to the world.
This celebration comes with good news for Zambales mango farmers. The P50-million Green Mango Valley Project, launched last year, is helping the province grow more mangoes, increase the harvest, and make the mango industry even stronger. Governor Ebdane is proud to say that the project is already showing great results!
🏃♂️ Festival Kicks Off Early at SM City Olongapo
The festival doesn’t just start on May 21 — it has already begun with a special pre-event on April 26 at SM City Olongapo Central. It featured fun mango product shows, a street-dancing performance, and the exciting Zamba-Tuklas Talento auditions where talented performers from different towns competed.
Zambales tourism manager Tel Mora explained that the early events help get more people excited about the upcoming festival and reach a larger audience. The talent auditions will continue across the province until May 17, with Cluster 1 (Olongapo and nearby towns) kicking off the auditions first.
