Zaldy Co Claims ₱1B Was Sent to Marcos on Romualdez Order

Former congressman Zaldy Co shook the nation on Monday, revealing that he personally delivered around ₱1 billion to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. — all, he said, under the direct orders of then–House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

In a video posted on his social media accounts, and reported by 24 Oras’ Tina Panganiban-Perez, Co spoke with a steady but emotional tone.

He said slowly… almost painfully:

One billion pesos ang personal kong naihatid.
Ako mismo ang nagbigay ng pera… kasama ang aking driver at mga tauhan.
Lahat ito… ay utos ni Speaker Martin Romualdez.

According to Co, these instructions came the moment he assumed the powerful position of House appropriations committee chairperson.

Romualdez, he claims, did not mince words:

“Kailangan mong makapag-deliver ng two billion pesos kada buwan.

That was the expectation. Every month. No questions asked.

Co said the money was to be handed to Jojo Cadiz, a man he was told had full access to a “drop-off point” near the President’s home.

And the allegations didn’t stop there.

Co claimed that Romualdez once told him that President Marcos himself ordered the purchase of a house — not for residence, but for something far more alarming:

“Gagamitin daw bilang bagsakan at imbakan ng pera
mula sa mga koleksyon, SOPs, at iba pang deliveries para sa pangulo.”

In another post, Co even showed what he said was a list of these alleged cash drop-offs.

He detailed several deliveries, including:

  • ₱200 million handed to Cadiz, supposedly for transfer to the President’s house

  • ₱800 million more delivered on December 5, 2024

  • And, he says, a staggering ₱55 billion in total cash deliveries over time

Co further claimed:

“Sinabi ni Speaker Martin… hati sila ni Pangulong Marcos sa perang iyon.”

As the allegations spread, the Palace has yet to issue an official statement.
But in a press briefing on Monday, President Marcos responded briefly, saying Co should come home and face his cases — and that he is prepared to answer any accusations.

The nation now waits… watching closely… as the story unfolds.
