Yeng Constantino, Ogie Alcasid team up for concert

MANILA – Yeng Constantino confirmed that she will be doing a concert with fellow singer and “Tawag ng Tanghalan” judge Ogie Alcasid.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Constantino said the concert will happen next year.

“Kami ni Sir Ogie, kami ‘yung mayroong project together. Next year, magkakaroon kami ng concert ni Sir Ogie Alcasid,” she said.

“About siya sa mga songwriters, so ‘yun ang concept ng show,” she added.

Constantino went on to share that she enjoys her friendship not only with Alcasid, but also with the rest of the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” judges.

“Nagha-hang out kami actually ng mga hurados sa bahay ni Sir Ogie ni Ms. Regine (Velasquez, Alcasid’s wife). Ang masaya kasi sa ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan,’ hindi kami magkakakilala talaga noong umpisa, pero habang nandoon kami sa show, ‘yung friendship na nabuo sa amin ay ibang klase rin,” she said.

“Parang nagkakakilanlan kaming lahat, mas nagkakaroon kami ng malalim na friendship bukod sa pagkikita lang at sasabihin lang ay ‘hi, hello, and bye,'” she added.

Aside from Alcasid, Constantino also praised Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal for their effort to schedule their bonding sessions.

“Actually ang may initiative talaga na magsama-sama, kasi ako hindi ako magaling magtahi-tahi ng mga tao o mag-organize, pero ‘yung sina Sir Ogie, si Ms. Karla, si Ate Jolina isa pa yan, mommy at ate talaga. Maganda na may mga ganoong time,” she said.

Aside from being one of the judges of “Tawag ng Tanghalan,” Constantino is set to release her collaboration with Dave Moffatt of the group The Moffatts.

She will also be a special guest at Brian McKnight’s concert on September 15 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
