The country will start administering second COVID-19 booster shots on April 25 — but only for immunocompromised adults, for now.

Who can get their second boosters?
The Department of Health (DOH) is expecting around 7,000 to 13,000 immunocompromised individuals will get their second boosters during the first day of rollout next week.
“At ikakasa natin sa buong bansa, depende sa kahandaan ng ating mga bakuna center na mag-implement ng ating second booster,” Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said in a media briefing on Saturday.
[Translation: And we’ll roll it out in the whole country, depending on the readiness of our vaccination centers in implementing the second booster.]
Immunocompromised individuals pertain to those with immunodeficiency, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and those who underwent organ transplant, among others.
When can I get my second booster shot?
Immunocompromised individuals can get their second booster shot as early as three months after their first booster to further increase protection against the coronavirus.
Where can I get my second booster shot?
Medical clinics, hospitals, and HIV treatment hubs can facilitate the vaccination for the immunocompromised. House-to-house inoculation can also be done.
How can I register to get my second booster?
The DOH has encouraged the public to coordinate with concerned local government units with regard to the registration procedure for the second booster shot. Those getting their doses are advised to bring their vaccination cards, valid identification cards, and medical certificates to the site.
