Viral Video Shows OFW Attacked Inside Singapore Mall

A disturbing video has sparked outrage online.

It shows a foreign man inside a mall in Singapore repeatedly attacking a female overseas Filipino worker (OFW)—an incident that has left many Filipinos angry, shaken, and demanding justice.

In a report by JP Soriano on “24 Oras” aired Tuesday, the viral clip begins quietly. The victim and the man appear to be talking. No shouting. No warning.

Then, without provocation, the man suddenly kicks the woman on her side, sending her crashing to the floor.

Moments later, he strikes again—this time aiming for her head.
The OFW manages to dodge the kick, narrowly avoiding further injury.

The video ends, but the impact lingers.

Following the incident, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed that the Philippine labor attaché in Singapore has already identified the woman in the video and reached out to her to offer assistance.

According to DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac, the priority now is the victim’s safety and well-being.

“Our Migrant Workers Office labor attaché in Singapore is already in discussions,” Cacdac said. “We are determining the exact cause of the incident. Medical assistance is the most basic priority, and our lawyer is ready to help her file a complaint.”

The OFW has since reported the incident to the labor attaché, though full details have not yet been made public.

Cacdac was firm in his message.

“This is assault—physical assault. It’s a crime anywhere in the world, especially in Singapore,” he said. “We are looking into it and will file the necessary legal actions.”

More than 200,000 Filipinos currently work in Singapore. While many are household service workers, the number of skilled and professional Filipinos there continues to grow.

For many, this incident is more than a viral video.

It is a painful reminder of the risks some OFWs face abroad—and a call to ensure that no Filipino worker stands alone when violence crosses the line.
