Vice Ganda finally spoke up.
On It’s Showtime, the Unkabogable Star opened up about the viral airport video that has been circulating online—one that left many netizens upset, and Vice visibly irritated.
The video, now deleted but widely reposted, shows Vice walking through an airport while a woman films him up close. What made it viral wasn’t just the footage—but the woman’s claim that she “didn’t know” who Vice Ganda was.
Yet in the same breath, she could be heard saying, “Ito yung sikat na artista sa Pilipinas.”
Contradicting much?
As Vice continued walking, clearly uncomfortable, the woman cheerfully greeted him, “Uwi ka na ng Pinas? Happy New Year!”
Vice responded—calm, but unmistakably annoyed.
“Happy New Year. Hindi n’yo nga ako kilala, Ate, eh.”
That single line was enough to spark outrage online.
Netizens quickly called out the woman for filming Vice without consent, pointing out the lack of respect for privacy—celebrity or not.
Days later, during the January 5 episode of It’s Showtime, Vice addressed the incident in his own way.
It started lightly.
Spotting contestant Vhec, Vice joked, “Kamukha mo yung nagvi-video sa ’kin sa airport.”
The studio laughed—but Vice’s tone soon shifted.
“Hindi n’ya raw alam ang pangalan ko,” Vice said, recalling the moment. “Pero kitang-kita ko nung nakita n’ya ako—‘Ay, si Vice Ganda!’—tapos vinideo ako.”
Vice even reenacted how the woman followed him, phone raised, camera rolling—straight to his face.
“Ang layo ng nilakad n’ya ha,” he said, clearly annoyed. “Talagang binwisit n’ya talaga ’ko.”
Despite his frustration, Vice chose not to share every detail.
“Ayoko nang ikwento yung buo,” he explained. “Kasi maba-bash ka lalo, ’day. Pero malala. Kinontent ako—eh male-late na ’ko sa flight ko.”
The message was clear.
What may seem like harmless content can be deeply intrusive—especially when it crosses personal boundaries.
Meanwhile, Vice continues to shine beyond the noontime stage. He is also starring in the comedy-drama film Call Me Mother, alongside Nadine Lustre—an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025.
Viral moment or not, Vice Ganda reminds everyone of one simple truth:
Fame does not erase the right to respect.
