The Philippine National Police (PNP) has gone all out to ensure that every Filipino can honor their loved ones this Undas 2025 in peace and safety.
PNP Acting Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. announced that a nationwide security and public safety plan is now fully in motion — with officers stationed across the country’s busiest spots.
From bus terminals and ports to cemeteries and public parks, thousands of uniformed personnel are already on the ground. A total of 62,868 personnel from the PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard are working hand in hand under Oplan Ligtas Undas 2025.
“We are committed to protecting every Filipino traveling to be with their loved ones this Undas,” Nartatez said.
“Our personnel are fully deployed, highly visible, and ready to respond to any incident. We urge the public to cooperate and remain vigilant.”
He reminded both the police and the public of their shared responsibility — urging officers to stay alert, visible, and approachable, and citizens to report any suspicious activity.
Nartatez also offered a few heartfelt reminders:
Before leaving home, secure your house, double-check all locks, and avoid leaving valuables behind. These small steps, he said, can make all the difference.
And in case of emergencies, he advised the public to call Unified 911 for quick assistance.
As of 4 p.m. on Friday, the Manila Police District reported that over 92,000 visitors have already flocked to public cemeteries across Metro Manila.
Among them were:
-
53,700 at Manila North Cemetery
-
32,240 at Manila South Cemetery
-
3,860 at Laloma Cemetery
-
2,000 at Manila Chinese Cemetery
-
320 at Paco Park Cemetery
Earlier this week, the PNP also announced that they are on heightened alert status, boosting their personnel strength by 25% to guarantee a smooth and safe observance of the holiday.
This Undas, the message is clear:
Honor your departed with love — and stay safe while doing it.
