Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson remains defiant against apologizing to Kris Aquino.
In a 20-second video uploaded on Facebook in response to Aquino’s rants, Uson tells Kris that the issue is not about her.
Aquino took offense at Uson’s post on former Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino being kissed by two women on the last flight he took before getting killed in Manila in 1983.
Uson also said in a later post that she declines to apologize for the truth.
“Ito po ang aking response sa live video ni Ms. Kris Aquino. This is not about Kris Aquino. Tungkol ito sa paglagay ng malisya sa isang halik. Itinumbas lang sa gawain ng ibang lider tulad ng tatay niya,” Uson said in the video message.
(This is my response to the live video of Ms. Kris Aquino. This is not about Kris Aquino. This is about putting malice in a kiss. [The video] was to show similarity among leaders like his father.)
In response, Aquino said she constantly tried to reach out to Uson to fix the issue.
She also promised to end the spat by saying that Uson is right in saying this is not about her and that this is a reminder that Filipinos still love and respect Cory and Ninoy Aquino.
President Rodrigo Duterte has already apologized to Aquino through Special Assistant to the President Christopher ‘Bong’ Go.
Duterte had drawn criticisms for the kiss that happened onstage after he addressed Filipinos in Seoul, South Korea. – UNTV News & Rescue
