The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and the DBP Data Center Inc. (DCI) formally launched the Online Travel Tax Payment System (OTTPS) on 16 April 2018 at the TIEZA Central Office in Pasay City.
The launch aimed to introduce the new and improved OTTPS to the media and to the public. The OTTPS was developed to provide a more convenient way of of paying travel tax. Using the OTTPS, the travel tax may now be paid through Visa credit and debit cards (MasterCard and Bancnet credit and debit cards soon to be available); Over The Counter (OTC non-bank) channel partners such as San Mig Food Avenue, Petron Corporation, Total Philippines Corporation, H Lhuillier Pawnshop, Tambunting Pawnshop Inc., Shopwise and Wellcome supermarkets, among others; Touchpay Kiosks. The OTTPS will be operational 24/7.
The launch highlighted the demonstration on how to use the OTTPS in processing the full travel tax payment, as well as how to use Touchpay Kiosk. TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Pocholo Paragas himself demonstrated how to create an account while DBP Vice President Ricardo Josef Bandal II showed how to pay through the Touchpay Kiosk which will be placed in strategic locations.
“We want to have a hassle-free payment scheme. One that will allow passengers the option to pay their travel taxes online instead of lining up at the airports and travel tax centers. This is in line with the directive of the President to reduce the queues in government centers,” said TIEZA COO Paragas.
Also present at the launch were TIEZA OIC-ACOO for Administration and Finance Sector Atty. Joy Balauitan; DBP Chairman Hon. Alberto Romulo; DBP President & Chief Executive Officer Cecilia Borromeo; and DCI Senior Business Development Manager Mr. Arnel Celis.
Passengers may now access the OTTPS at https://traveltax.tieza.gov.ph to process full travel tax payments.
