Thai Court Orders Arrest of Ex–Miss Universe CEO Anne J.

A wave of shock swept through Thai media on Thursday after reports confirmed that a Thai court issued an arrest warrant for former Miss Universe co-owner Anne Jakrajutatip.

According to Khaosod English, the warrant was released after Jakrajutatip failed to appear for the scheduled reading of the verdict in her ongoing fraud case involving 30 million Thai baht—over ₱54 million.

She offered no explanation for her absence.
And for the South Bangkok Criminal Court, that silence spoke loudly.

The court declared that her failure to attend “showed intent to evade justice,” prompting them to issue the arrest order.

The Fraud Case Behind the Warrant

The complaint was filed by Dr. Raweewat Maschamadol against JKN Global Group Public Company Limited and Jakrajutatip herself.

According to the report, the accusations stem from alleged joint fraud, including false representation and concealment of crucial facts.

Another outlet, The Nation Thailand, reported that the complainant was convinced to invest in corporate bonds worth 30 million baht, despite the accused allegedly knowing that the debt could not be repaid.

The court allowed the case to proceed and initially permitted Jakrajutatip to be represented in absentia. The verdict was first set for November 25.

But following her absence, the court not only ordered her arrest — it also forfeited her bail and rescheduled the verdict to December 26.

Reports of a Sudden Trip to Mexico

Meanwhile, reports emerged claiming that Jakrajutatip had flown to Mexico.

South China Morning Post noted that political activist Sondhi Limthongkul accused her of attempting to flee responsibilities related to JKN’s rehabilitation plan and other legal obligations.

Adding to the swirl of allegations, Khaosod English reported that she supposedly converted 6 billion baht — around $186 million — into cryptocurrency before leaving the country.

However, JKN Global quickly issued a statement on November 24, strongly denying these claims.
Instead, they blamed delayed debt payments on the economic slowdown and cash-flow issues, saying no fraud had been established and pledging full cooperation with government investigations.

A Former CEO Facing Growing Controversy

Jakrajutatip stepped down as Miss Universe Organization CEO last June amid internal restructuring at JKN.

Earlier this year, the Miss Universe Organization also publicly distanced itself from her ongoing legal issues, stressing that the case has no connection to MUO’s operations.

Jakrajutatip remains a historic figure in pageant history — a trailblazing transgender leader who purchased the Miss Universe Organization in 2023.

But now, her legacy faces turbulence.
Her legal troubles are unfolding just as the MUO itself confronts a series of controversies of its own.
