Taipei Opens Doors to Filipino Influencers Amid New Visa-Free Rule

Big news! Starting July 1, Filipinos can visit Taipei, Taiwan without needing a visa — which means it’s easier and faster to travel there! To celebrate, the Taipei City Government invited some of the Philippines’ most popular travel experts to explore and share the city’s exciting places with their millions of fans.

Who Went to Taipei?

From July 1 to 4, three famous Filipino travel influencers visited Taipei:

  • Yosh Dimen and Vins Carlos from The Poor Traveler, a famous travel blog with 1.5 million followers. They’re known for sharing smart and helpful tips for traveling.

  • Krisell Lumagui, a family travel influencer with almost 1 million followers, who shares fun family adventures.

What Did They Do?

The travel team went on a special trip designed to show the best parts of Taipei — from nature spots to tasty food places and family fun!

  • They started at Yangmingshan National Park, a beautiful nature park with mountains and hot springs. It’s a place full of fresh air and lovely views.

  • Then they visited Dihua Street in the old Dadaocheng district. Here, they tried on traditional costumes — like stepping back in time to experience Taiwan’s rich history and culture.

  • Next stop was Simple Kaffa, a famous coffee shop inside Huashan 1914 Creative Park, where art, culture, and delicious coffee come together.

What Did They Say About Taipei?

The Poor Traveler team said Taipei is super easy to explore because the city has a great public transportation system — buses and trains make it simple to go anywhere. They also loved the night markets, which are busy places filled with tasty foods and fun things to see. One market they loved was Nanjichang Night Market, full of yummy snacks and a lively atmosphere.

Family Fun with Krisell Lumagui

Krisell focused on what families can do in Taipei. She said:

  • Taipei is great for kids and parents because places like the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park and Taipei Zoo have helpful signs in many languages, making it easy to enjoy.

  • She loved the Beitou Hot Springs, where families can relax in warm waters, and the fun Doraemon Anywhere Door near Xinbeitou Station.

  • The Maokong Gondola ride gave beautiful views of the city and nature.

  • She also tried real Taiwanese tea and said it’s way more than just bubble tea — the tea is delicious and refreshing!

Krisell noticed many places in Taipei have special rooms for nursing babies and lots of family-friendly spaces. She said it’s a perfect city for families who love to travel together.

What’s Next?

To keep the excitement going, the Taipei City Government will hold a big event called “Taipei Tourism Promotion” at SM Aura in Taguig on August 9 to 10. Both The Poor Traveler and Krisell will be there to share their fun stories and videos to inspire more Filipinos to visit Taipei.

Why This Matters

Filipinos already love traveling to Taiwan, and now that it’s easier to visit without a visa, even more people can explore Taipei’s amazing sights, food, and culture. This new rule will help families, friends, and adventure seekers enjoy one of Asia’s most exciting cities!
