SWS to Join House Fake News Probe Over Lawmaker Survey Issue

A lawmaker named Rodante Marcoleta is upset because his name was left out of an important survey done by Social Weather Stations (SWS). This survey asked people who they like for the Senate, but Marcoleta says his name wasn’t on the list even though it should have been.

Marcoleta told a group of lawmakers on Tuesday that the survey included names of people who weren’t even running for the Senate or people who were not well-known. But his name wasn’t included. Some of the names on the list were people like Jerome Adonis and Jocelyn Andamo, who are not famous, and former President Rodrigo Duterte, who isn’t running for Senate either.

Marcoleta found out that even though his name wasn’t on the list, the results showed that he ranked 36th, which made no sense to him. He felt that this was an unfair mistake and that surveys like these could trick people into believing something that wasn’t true.

Marcoleta said that it’s not fair to include people who aren’t running or well-known and not include him. He asked the House to look into this problem. Other lawmakers, like Representative Dan Fernandez, agreed and said they would call SWS to explain what happened.

SWS has not yet replied to questions about the survey.
