MANILA, PHILIPPINS — Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III suspended work at the House of Representatives on Monday.
“Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 97 issued by the Office of the President regarding the suspension of work in government offices in Metro Manila on account of the expected heavy rainfall brought by Super Typhoon Nando and the intensified southwest monsoon, the Honorable Speaker Faustino ‘Bojie’ Dy III has directed the suspension of work at the House of Representatives on Monday, September 22, 2025,” a memorandum issued by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco read.
The memo however said that the House Committee on Appropriations’ Budget Amendments Review sub-committee “shall proceed with its deliberations.”
“All essential personnel are expected to report for duty to ensure that critical operations within the House of Representatives remain uninterrupted,” it read.
