MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Wednesday congratulated Isabela 6th District Rep. Faustino “Bodjie” Dy III on his election as the speaker of the House of Representatives, and expressed confidence that the change in leadership will pave the way for stronger coordination between the two chambers of Congress.
“Congratulations to Speaker Bodjie Dy. I am confident that under his leadership, the House of Representatives will continue to serve the Filipino people well,” Sotto said in a statement.
The Senate chief believes Dy is “a capable leader” who can steer the chamber effectively amid crucial debates on the 2026 national budget, economic reforms, and pending measures aimed at strengthening social protection programs.
Sotto voiced optimism that the House under Dy’s leadership will work closely with the Senate in passing key legislative priorities.
“We look forward to a strong and smooth partnership between the Senate and the House moving forward,” he said.
