Sexbomb Jopay turns emotional on ‘It’s Showtime’ after dance performance with their songs

Jopay Paguia-Zamora of the Sexbomb Girls could not help but cry on “It’s Showtime,” after a dance group performed a medley of their songs.

For the “It’s Showdown” segment on Wednesday, the dance crew J-Force Angels gave it their all and performed modern choreography to the iconic girl group’s top hits like “Bakit Papa?” “Tabachingching,” “Baile,” and of course, “The Spageti Song.”

Throughout the performance, Jopay, who was a judge on the segment, had a huge smile and gave the group a standing ovation.

“In fairness J-Force Angels, grabe nung narinig ko yung song, sobrang… yung ngiti ko hanggang huli eh,” she said before turning sentimental.

[To be fair, J-Force Angels. When I heard the song, I couldn’t help it. I smiled all the way through the end.]

“Nakakatuwa kasi minsan lang kaming magsama-samang Sexbomb talaga,” she said.

[It’s really nice because the Sexbomb Girls don’t often come together.]

“Naiiyak ako, char,” the dancer said before the tears finally fell.

After being comforted by Kim Chiu, Jopay told the group, “Sobrang ganda ng ginawa ninyo. ‘Di ko ine-expect na tuloy-tuloy yung music niyo, puro Sexbomb. As in, na-reminisce talaga ako, good vibes talaga.”

[You really did well. I didn’t expect you would dance to Sexbomb songs all the way. I really couldn’t help but reminisce. It was good vibes.]

But the dancer told the group they should clean up their moves next time.

“Kami kapag sumayaw kami dati, kailangan mabigyan namin ng justice yung music. Dun lang, siguro mag-focus lang tayo,” she said. “Yun lang naman, pero overall, OK naman,” she added with a smile.

[When we dance, we really need to give the music justice. That’s what we need to focus on next time. That’s all. Over all, you guys were OK.]

According to “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda, the Sexbomb Girls was a league of their own. “Iba naman talaga, iconic group,” she said.

Meanwhile, co-host Jackie Gonzaga said “naging motto sa buhay ‘yan. Hindi tayo pinalaki ng Sexbomb para bumawi. Laban laban.”

The Sexbomb Girls rose to fame for their daily appearances on “Eat Bulaga.” The group later starred in the afternoon soap, “Daisy Sieste” and became top recording artists. They were such a Filipino pop culture phenomenon that long after the members went their separate ways, SexBomb and their songs continue to be a force. Netflix even employed them for an announcement earlier this year.

Aside from Jopay, the group is made up of Rochelle Pangilinan, Sugar Mercado, Izzy Trazona, Aira Bermudez, and many more.
