MANILA, Philippines —The Senate has released its latest lineup of committee chairmen, vice chairmen, and members, with senior and first-term lawmakers sharing leadership across key panels that will steer deliberations on legislation ranging from constitutional reform to social welfare and public order.
Sen. Erwin Tulfo was appointed chairman of the Committee on Games and Amusement, with Sens. Bong Go, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, JV Ejercito, and Risa Hontiveros as vice chairmen. Members of the panel include Sens. Raffy Tulfo, Mark Villar, Francis Pangilinan, Lito Lapid, and Joel Villanueva.
Sen. Loren Legarda will head the Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, supported by Sens. Bam Aquino, Sherwin Gatchalian, Ejercito, and Hontiveros. Other members are Sens. Pia Cayetano, Raffy Tulfo, Pangilinan, Villar, and Villanueva.
For the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, Sen. Ejercito was named chairman, with Sens. Dela Rosa, Go, and Hontiveros as vice chairmen. Members include Sens. Erwin Tulfo, Gatchalian, Legarda, Aquino, Raffy Tulfo, and Villanueva.
Sen. Erwin Tulfo will also lead the Committee on Social Justice, Welfare and Rural Development, assisted by Go, Imee Marcos, Ejercito, and Hontiveros as vice chairmen. Lapid, Gatchalian, Pangilinan, and Villanueva were listed as members.
Sen. Rodante Marcoleta was appointed head of the Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship. The committee counts among its members Hontiveros, Cayetano, Pangilinan, Gatchalian, Ejercito, Legarda, Villar, Villanueva, Go, and Marcos.
The Committee on Agriculture, Food and Agrarian Reform listed Legarda and Erwin Tulfo as majority members, while the minority contingent includes Go, Padilla, Marcos, Dela Rosa, Marcoleta, and Villanueva.
Pangilinan was designated chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes, with Cayetano, Ejercito, and Hontiveros as vice chairmen. Majority members are Aquino, Raffy Tulfo, Gatchalian, Lapid, and Legarda, while minority members include Go, Padilla, Dela Rosa, Marcoleta, and Villanueva.
Sen. Robin Padilla will lead the Committee on Cultural Minorities and Muslim Affairs, with Go and Villanueva as minority members. Pangilinan, meanwhile, heads the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, with Cayetano as vice chairman and Ejercito, Hontiveros, Aquino, and Erwin Tulfo as majority members.
Several panels did not announce chairmanships but listed minority members, including the Committees on Culture and Arts, Economic Affairs, Energy, Labor, Public Works, Tourism, Women and Family Relations, Local Government, Migrant Workers, and Sports. These slots are shared by Go, Padilla, Estrada, Marcos, Dela Rosa, Marcoleta, and Villanueva.
The Senate leadership said the new committee assignments are designed to distribute responsibilities across administration allies and the minority bloc to ensure a “balanced and functional legislative process” ahead of critical debates on national security, economic reforms, and constitutional change.
