Sara Duterte: Tapusin na ang pamumulitika

Presumptive vice president Sara Duterte on Friday called for an end to politicking as the election season comes to an end.

During the Inday Sara Duterte Online Thanksgiving, Duterte stressed those who are elected should lead in ensuring that all Filipinos, even those who did not support them in the polls, would experience genuine public service.

(As the campaign and election period end, it’s time to forget the colors of politics. Let’s end politicking. Those elected should lead in making sure that all Filipinos, supporters or not, will experience genuine public service.)

Duterte, during the campaign period, repeatedly urged the public to do away with the various “colors” of politics.

(During the campaign, I repeatedly said that after the elections, we should already forget the “colors” in politics as these caused fights among supporters.)

The Davao City mayor encouraged her supporters to extend their hands to the supporters of other candidates.

Tayo ang Sana all, tayo ang Sara All. We have to be magnanimous because we are only 31.5M.

(Let us reach out to them. Let us show humility because we are the winners. We need them to unite the country 100%.)

She said she needs further support from the public because of the huge responsibility she is about to face once proclaimed as the new vice president of the country.

Duterte has agreed to become the chief of the Department of Education (DepEd). She promised to “work on producing skilled learners with the mindset to realize their full potential as individuals.”

(We need a new generation which will showcase discipline and love for country — young Filipinos who will help the government in ensuring peace and progress in the entire country.)

In choosing Duterte as next DepEd secretary, presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said the Davao City mayor was a mother who wanted her children to be “well-trained and well-educated.”

Meanwhile, Duterte also expressed gratitude to all volunteers and parallel groups who extended support and help in her candidacy. She also thanked them for respecting her decision to run as vice president.
