Vice President Sara Duterte was seen again in a new political video. This time, she is showing support for Congressman Rodante Marcoleta, a close friend of her family who works in the House of Representatives.
The video is 53 seconds long and was posted on Marcoleta’s Facebook page on Wednesday. In the video, Sara Duterte speaks kindly about the congressman and tells a short story about him.
She explained that when people were saying bad things about the Office of the Vice President (which is her office), and when some lawmakers were investigating it, Marcoleta stood up to protect her. He wasn’t afraid of what others would say. He stood strong, even if he had to do it alone.
Sara said in Filipino, “Noong pinupuna at tinatakot ang Tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo, siya ang tumindig at dumepensa… ang tama ay pinaglalaban kahit mag-isa ka lang.”
This means:
“When people were criticizing and trying to scare the Vice President’s Office, he stood up and defended it. He didn’t mind the criticism, because for Marcoleta, you fight for what’s right—even if you’re alone.”
Sara believes that Marcoleta is always doing what is right. She trusts him and wants others to know he’s a good person to vote for.
Marcoleta is running for Senator in the upcoming elections. He is supported by PDP-Laban, the political party of Sara’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
This isn’t the first time Sara appeared in a political ad. Not long ago, she was also in an ad with Senator Imee Marcos, who is trying to keep her seat in the Senate.
Senator Imee Marcos is the sister of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. She had questions about how the current government handled the situation with former President Duterte, who was arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Netherlands. He is facing charges related to crimes against humanity.
