Ryan Bang is feeling nothing but gratitude — and a whole lot of love.
The Korean comedian and TV host has been named one of the Top 10 personalities positively influencing South Korea’s global image, landing at No. 9 on a list led by global superstars BTS. Just below him? Blackpink’s Lisa.
For Ryan, the recognition hits close to home.
On Tuesday, he shared the news on X with a simple but heartfelt message: “Thank you,” followed by a Philippine flag and a red heart. The next day, emotions poured out on the set of It’s Showtime.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat siyempre sa inyong lahat,” Ryan said, pausing as he spoke. He also thanked the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Tourism for recognizing his efforts in the Philippines.
“Na-appreciate nila ‘yung mga efforts na ginagawa ko dito sa Pilipinas,” he added.
It was a full-circle moment — a Korean who found a second home in the Philippines, now being honored for building a bridge between cultures.
Proud It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda couldn’t help but celebrate the win. She shared the list on social media and wrote with joy:
“Number 9 is my son!”
Ryan’s reply was instant — and emotional.
“It’s all because of you, mommy ko. Love you so much.”
According to The Straits Times, the ranking came from a global survey conducted in October 2025, involving 13,000 respondents across 26 countries. The goal: to identify personalities and groups shaping a positive image of South Korea around the world.
Sharing the list with Ryan Bang — comedians, athletes, and K-pop royalty alike.
From viral laughs to heartfelt moments on Philippine television, Ryan Bang’s journey proves one thing:
You don’t need to be born somewhere to belong there.
And sometimes, the heart chooses home.
Congratulations, Ryan Bang.
