Rendon Labador under probe for livestreaming raid –PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it is investigating whether there were violations committed when vlogger Rendon Labador livestreamed the raid of a firm in Makati City.

“We are looking into this. We don’t encourage such actions. We will be making some directives and initiating measures so as not to repeat the same incident,” PNP chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. said in a news briefing.

If violations were committed, then Acorda said those who are liable will be punished.

GMA News Online has sought comments from Labador on the matter, but he has yet to reply as of posting time.

Authorities recently raided an online lending company in Makati City that were allegedly harassing clients who failed to pay.

Labador reportedly live streamed the police operation on Facebook.

The families of the company’s workers complained about the caption on Labador’s livestream as it gives the impression that the employees of the lending company are already guilty of the allegations.

According to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, it has a collaboration with Labador that explains his presence in the raid.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
