Ralph Tulfo Denies Funding Lavish Las Vegas Party With Public Money

Quezon City 2nd District Representative Ralph Tulfo has broken his silence after a video of him partying in Las Vegas went viral.

The 29-year-old lawmaker admitted he was indeed in the clip, taken at a bar in 2023. But he firmly denied claims that public money was used to foot the lavish bill, which reportedly reached over ₱2 million ($42,000).

“I ask for understanding regarding the video, which was from a private Christmas celebration in 2023,” Tulfo said. “My friends had just received good news, and we were celebrating.”

Shared Bill With Friends

Tulfo, the son of Senator Raffy Tulfo, explained that while the payment was made through his credit card, he and his friends shared the expenses.

“Although my credit card was used, we all pitched in for the total amount,” he clarified.

He stressed that it was a personal trip and insisted,

“No government funds or people’s money were used.”

Addressing Public Sentiment

Tulfo acknowledged the criticism from Filipinos who found the display of luxury insensitive.

“I understand why these kinds of celebrations are painful for Filipinos to see,” he said.

But he also urged the public not to lose focus on bigger national issues.

“Let’s not allow the issue of corruption to be diverted. Together, let us be vigilant and hold the right people accountable.”

Absent in Congress

Despite his statements, Tulfo was notably absent during the plenary session at the House of Representatives. His mother, ACT-CIS Representative Jocelyn Tulfo, has not issued any comment on the matter.
