MANILA, Philippines —Tension flared at Ayala Bridge on Sunday, September 21, after anti-corruption protesters clashed with police and set fire to vehicles blocking the road.
Authorities said an unidentified group burned the tire of a container van that had been used as a barricade at the bridge. The same group also carried off and torched a parked motorcycle.
Some masked individuals were seen throwing objects at police officers as clashes broke out at the foot of the bridge.
Police said those involved in the burning incidents have been arrested.
