A new survey by Pulse Asia shows that Filipinos are very worried right now. The biggest problems people are facing are the high prices of food and other basic needs and staying healthy.
Pulse Asia did a survey called “Ulat ng Bayan” in June 2025. They asked 1,200 adults from all over the Philippines to share what they were most worried about. These interviews happened between June 26 and June 30. The results have a 95% chance of being correct, with a small margin of error.
🛒 Top National Problem: Inflation (or Price Increases)
Inflation means prices of things we buy every day—like rice, vegetables, and even shampoo—are getting higher and higher. Out of all the people surveyed:
-
62% said inflation is the biggest national concern.
-
This beat other issues like low salaries or poverty.
People want President Bongbong Marcos Jr. to talk about inflation in his big speech called the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 28.
The only other issue that a lot of Filipinos also think is important is:
-
Low wages (not enough salary): 51% of people said this is a big problem too.
Other things that people worry about include:
-
Poverty: 26%
-
Finding jobs: 25%
-
Government corruption: 24%
Some issues didn’t bother most people:
-
Keeping our national territory safe: only 5% cared
-
Helping OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers): just 4%
-
Terrorism: only 1%
❤️ Top Personal Worry: Staying Healthy
When it comes to personal lives, most Filipinos just want to stay healthy.
-
64% said their #1 personal goal is to be healthy.
-
This is still lower than last year, when 71% said health was their top concern.
Other important personal issues:
-
Having a good and secure job: 53%
-
Having money saved up (savings): 45%
-
Owning a house and lot: only 23% said this is urgent
People from all over the country and different income levels said health is really important—except for the poorest group (Class E), who had other worries like food and income.
😡 Many Are Unhappy With Government Performance
Even though Filipinos are clear about what they want, many are unhappy with what the government is doing.
Here’s what the survey found:
-
66% are not satisfied with how the Marcos administration is handling inflation.
-
48% disapprove of how it’s increasing workers’ pay.
-
54% disapprove of how it’s reducing poverty.
-
50% disapprove of the fight against corruption.
-
40% disapprove of how it’s handling hunger.
Even though people are unhappy in many areas, the government got some praise too:
👍 Filipinos approve of:
-
Helping places hit by typhoons or disasters: 63%
-
Caring for OFWs: 62%
-
Supporting farmers: 53%
🧠 Simple Summary
-
Filipinos are scared about high prices and want cheaper food and goods.
-
They want to stay healthy and have good jobs.
-
Many are not happy with how the government is solving these problems.
-
But they do like how the government helps after calamities and supports OFWs and farmers.
So, as the President prepares his big speech, many Filipinos are watching closely, hoping their worries will be heard—and fixed.
