Philippine Peso Exchange Rates: JUNE 16, 2025

Have you ever wondered why money from one country is worth more or less than money from another? Like, why does 1 U.S. dollar = 56 pesos, but 1 Japanese yen = less than 1 peso? 🤔 Let’s break it down!

Every day, banks and governments around the world check the exchange rates—that’s how much money from one country is worth in another country. In the Philippines, this info comes from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Today, let’s look at the TOP 15 currencies and explain what they’re worth in pesos and what that means!

💵 1. United States Dollar (USD)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱55.9950

  • 🇺🇸 The U.S. dollar is strong and stable, so many countries—including the Philippines—watch it closely. If you have 1 dollar, you can trade it for about 56 pesos.

💴 2. Japanese Yen (JPY)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱0.3880

  • 🇯🇵 It takes almost 3 yen to equal 1 peso. That means the yen is a weaker currency, but it’s still very important because Japan is a huge trading partner.

💷 3. British Pound (GBP)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱75.9348

  • 🇬🇧 The British pound is one of the strongest currencies! If you had 1 pound, you’d get almost 76 pesos! That’s because the UK has a very strong economy.

🇭🇰 4. Hong Kong Dollar (HKD)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱7.1338

  • A single HK dollar is worth a little over 7 pesos. It’s not super strong, but still important since lots of OFWs are in Hong Kong.

🇨🇭 5. Swiss Franc (CHF)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱69.0189

  • Switzerland’s money is very strong too. People trust Swiss banks, so the franc is valuable. 1 franc = almost 69 pesos!

🇨🇦 6. Canadian Dollar (CAD)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱41.1849

  • Canada’s money is also pretty strong. If you work in Canada, your remittance in pesos will go far!

🇸🇬 7. Singapore Dollar (SGD)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱43.6847

  • Singapore is rich and small but mighty. Their money is strong, and many OFWs send money from there.

🇦🇺 8. Australian Dollar (AUD)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱36.3072

  • Australia’s currency has dropped a bit in value, but it’s still powerful. 1 AUD is still more than 36 pesos.

🇧🇭 9. Bahraini Dinar (BHD)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱148.5081

  • Whoa! The Bahraini dinar is the strongest in this list. Just 1 dinar = ₱148+! That’s because oil-rich Gulf countries have strong currencies.

🇰🇼 10. Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD)

  • No data today, but this is often the highest-valued currency in the world, even stronger than the Bahraini dinar.

🇸🇦 11. Saudi Riyal (SAR)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱14.9201

  • Saudi is another oil-rich country where many Filipinos work. Their riyal is worth almost 15 pesos per unit.

🇧🇳 12. Brunei Dollar (BND)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱43.5149

  • Brunei’s dollar is closely tied to Singapore’s. It’s strong and valuable, even though Brunei is small.

🇮🇩 13. Indonesian Rupiah (IDR)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱0.0034

  • This currency has a very low value compared to the peso. It takes hundreds of rupiah to equal just 1 peso.

🇹🇭 14. Thai Baht (THB)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱1.7299

  • The Thai baht is stronger than the Indonesian rupiah but still below the peso. You need almost 2 baht for 1 peso.

🇦🇪 15. UAE Dirham (AED)

  • Worth in pesos: ₱15.2454

  • Another Gulf country where many Filipinos work. The dirham is stable and strong, worth more than 15 pesos per unit.

🔍 What Does This All Mean?

Currencies change value because of trade, politics, inflation, and world events. If a country is doing well, their money is usually stronger. If there’s war, economic trouble, or inflation, it can lose value.

🇵🇭 How About the Peso?

  • Buying rate: ₱55.95

  • Selling rate: ₱56.45

  • Reference rate: ₱56.20

This means the peso is weaker compared to the U.S. dollar, which can affect prices of imported goods, OFW remittances, and even the price of gas and food.

🥇 Bonus: Gold & Silver Today

  • Silver: $36.25
