Have you ever wondered why the price of money from one country can go up or down every day? Just like how items in a store can get cheaper or more expensive, the value of money—or currency—can change too.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) shared the latest exchange rates today, July 9, 2025. This tells us how much other countries’ money is worth when changed into Philippine pesos (PHP).
Let’s look at the Top 15 currencies and explain what’s going on with each one:
💵 1. United States Dollar (USD)
-
1 USD = PHP 56.4460
This is the base currency for many countries. The peso is slightly weaker now, meaning it takes more pesos to get 1 US dollar.
💴 2. Japanese Yen (JPY)
-
1 JPY = PHP 0.3852
The yen remains weak compared to the peso. You need about 3 yen to equal 1 peso. This means traveling to Japan or importing from Japan is still cheaper for Filipinos.
💷 3. British Pound (GBP)
-
1 GBP = PHP 76.7383
The pound is still one of the strongest. It’s even more expensive than the dollar, meaning the UK currency is gaining value.
💲 4. Hong Kong Dollar (HKD)
-
1 HKD = PHP 7.1911
The HK dollar remains stable. It’s a bit stronger than some neighboring currencies.
💶 5. Swiss Franc (CHF)
-
1 CHF = PHP 70.9388
The franc is one of the strongest and safest currencies in the world, and it shows! Almost as high as the British pound.
🇨🇦 6. Canadian Dollar (CAD)
-
1 CAD = PHP 41.3221
Canada’s currency is in the mid-range. It’s stable, but still weaker than the USD and Euro.
🇸🇬 7. Singapore Dollar (SGD)
-
1 SGD = PHP 44.1225
Singapore’s money remains strong in Asia. It’s more valuable than Japan’s yen or China’s yuan.
🇦🇺 8. Australian Dollar (AUD)
-
1 AUD = PHP 36.8310
The Aussie dollar dropped slightly. Good news for Filipino tourists heading to Australia!
🇧🇭 9. Bahrain Dinar (BHD)
-
1 BHD = PHP 149.7440
Wow! This is the strongest currency in this list. Almost PHP 150 for 1 dinar. But note: this value is usually stable due to Bahrain’s oil-rich economy.
❌ 10. Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD)
-
No Data Available Today
For some reason, BSP didn’t list the exchange value for the Kuwaiti dinar today. It’s normally among the most expensive.
🇸🇦 11. Saudi Riyal (SAR)
-
1 SAR = PHP 15.0506
This is important for many OFWs in Saudi Arabia. The riyal stays strong and stable, giving good value when sending money home.
🇧🇳 12. Brunei Dollar (BND)
-
1 BND = PHP 43.9508
This currency is tied closely to the Singapore dollar. It remains strong and steady.
🇮🇩 13. Indonesian Rupiah (IDR)
-
1 IDR = PHP 0.0035
The rupiah is one of the lowest-valued currencies. You’d need hundreds of rupiah to equal even just 1 peso.
🇹🇭 14. Thai Baht (THB)
-
1 THB = PHP 1.7346
Thailand’s baht is fairly steady. It’s stronger than the yen but weaker than the HK dollar.
🇦🇪 15. UAE Dirham (AED)
-
1 AED = PHP 15.3682
Another important currency for many OFWs. Like the Saudi riyal, the dirham remains strong and is helping families in the Philippines through remittances.
💡 What Does This All Mean?
-
The US dollar is still the king of global trade.
-
The British pound, Swiss franc, and Bahrain dinar are the most expensive.
-
Asian currencies like the yen, rupiah, and baht are more affordable when compared to the peso.
-
Good news for OFWs: UAE and Saudi currencies are still strong, meaning more value when they send money home!
Bonus Fact:
Today, 1 Euro = PHP 66.1886, and gold is valued at over $3,305 per ounce!
