Philippine Peso Exchange Rates : August 19, 2025

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has released its official exchange rates for August 19, 2025. This is like a scoreboard that shows how the Philippine peso compares to the biggest and most important currencies around the world.

Let’s break it down and explain what’s happening with the top 15 currencies:

💵 1. US Dollar (USD) – ₱57.06

The US dollar is still the most powerful currency in the world, and today 1 dollar = ₱57.06. This is the main currency people look at when checking the peso’s strength.

💴 2. Japanese Yen (JPY) – ₱0.386

The yen looks very weak compared to the peso. You need almost 260 yen just to equal ₱100.

💷 3. British Pound (GBP) – ₱77.09

The British pound is always expensive. Right now, 1 pound = ₱77.09. That means it’s even stronger than the US dollar.

💲 4. Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) – ₱7.30

The HK dollar is smaller than the US dollar, but many Filipinos working in Hong Kong still send it home.

💶 5. Swiss Franc (CHF) – ₱70.68

Switzerland’s franc is strong, almost at the same level as the British pound. 1 franc = ₱70.68.

🍁 6. Canadian Dollar (CAD) – ₱41.35

Canada’s dollar is a little cheaper than the US dollar. 1 CAD = ₱41.35.

🏝️ 7. Singapore Dollar (SGD) – ₱44.44

The Singapore dollar is steady and strong, almost the same as the Brunei dollar.

🦘 8. Australian Dollar (AUD) – ₱37.04

Australia’s dollar is weaker than Canada’s, but still much higher than the peso.

🏦 9. Bahraini Dinar (BHD) – ₱151.36

This is one of the strongest currencies in the world! Just 1 dinar = ₱151.36. That’s like almost 3 US dollars.

🛑 10. Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) – Not Available

Normally, this is the strongest currency on earth, but today’s rate wasn’t listed.

🕋 11. Saudi Riyal (SAR) – ₱15.21

Many OFWs send this home. Right now, 1 riyal = ₱15.21.

🌴 12. Brunei Dollar (BND) – ₱44.26

Almost the same strength as the Singapore dollar, since both countries link their money together.

🇮🇩 13. Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) – ₱0.0035

This currency is very weak compared to the peso. You need about 28,500 rupiah to make ₱100.

🇹🇭 14. Thai Baht (THB) – ₱1.76

The baht is small but stronger than the yen. 1 baht = ₱1.76.

🇦🇪 15. UAE Dirham (AED) – ₱15.54

Another important OFW currency. Right now, 1 dirham = ₱15.54.

🌍 What This Means

  • The peso is weak against the US dollar, making imported goods more expensive.

  • The British pound and Swiss franc are much stronger, showing how powerful Europe’s money is.

  • The Bahraini dinar is the king today, worth more than ₱151 each!

  • Nearby Asian currencies like the yen, rupiah, and baht are weaker compared to the peso.

👉 In short: If you’re an OFW, this exchange rate can be good news because the money you send home is worth more pesos. But if you’re in the Philippines and you need to buy things from abroad, it can feel more expensive.
