The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is going full force this Undas 2025 as it raises its alert status from October 30 to November 4 to ensure the safety of millions of travelers heading home or visiting loved ones.
PCG spokesperson Captain Noemie Cayabyab announced that all Coast Guard districts, stations, and sub-stations across the country have been ordered to intensify monitoring and assistance operations in seaports and waterways.
“This includes putting on alert and deploying our floating assets, air assets, and land mobility units to assist local government units,” Cayabyab explained during a press briefing.
Last year, the PCG recorded over two million passengers traveling through Philippine ports during Undas. With numbers expected to rise this year, the Coast Guard is boosting security layers and enhancing passenger safety management to handle the surge.
Cayabyab emphasized that the PCG is working hand-in-hand with the Philippine Ports Authority, the Maritime Industry Authority, and other law enforcement agencies, as well as ship owners and passengers, to keep travel smooth and safe.
Beyond ports, lifeguards, rescue teams, and medical personnel will also be strategically deployed in beaches, island resorts, and other coastal tourist spots to quickly respond to emergencies.
As families prepare to travel for the long weekend, the PCG’s message is clear — safety first, vigilance always — ensuring that everyone reaches their destination and returns home safely this Undas season.
