THE Philippines logged its highest single-day tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections at 19,441 on Saturday, the Department of Health (DoH) said.
This puts the total number of infections in the country at 1.935 million, from which 142,679 are active.
Of the active cases, 97.3 percent are mild and asymptomatic cases, about one percent are moderate, and the rest are severe or critical.
The DoH also reported a high positivity rate of 27.5 percent, the DoH said.
There are 1.76 million recoveries, including 19,191 new survivors.
The death toll is at 33,008, with 167 new fatalities.
Occupancy rate for Covid-19 patients in intensive care units (ICUs), wards, and in isolation are 74 percent, 70 percent and 63 percent respectively.
