PH logs 4,806 new Covid-19 cases – DoH

THE Philippines reported 4,806 cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Thursday, raising the total to 2.74 million, the Department of Health (DoH) said.

Of the number, 65,835, or 2.4 percent were active, with 85 percent mild or asymptomatic and 15 percent moderate, severe or critical.

There were 52,262 tests conducted on Thursday, from which 10.9 percent returned positive. All laboratories reported to the DoH.

At least 5,934 were reported to have recovered on Thursday and the death toll increased to 41,237 although the fatality rate remained low at 1.5 percent.

Occupancy rate of hospital beds for Covid-19 patients in the National Capital Region (NCR) remained at 52 percent, 37 percent and 40 percent for intensive care units (ICUs), isolation units, and wards respectively.

Occupancy rate of hospital beds in the national level for ICUs, isolation units and wards is at 58 percent, 45 percent and 43 percent.
