A man named Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, who also goes by the nickname Totoy, has made a big promise — he said he will fight back against powerful businessman Atong Ang, who had filed serious charges against him.
Totoy is the main whistleblower (someone who tells the truth about a crime) in the mysterious case of 34 missing sabungeros — these are people who were involved in cockfighting games in the Philippines.
The Big Fight: Totoy vs. Atong Ang
This Saturday, Patidongan told reporters that he will answer all of Atong Ang’s accusations this Monday. Not only that, he also plans to file his own charges against Ang.
He said in Filipino:
“Yung mga kinaso niya sa akin, babaliktarin ko rin laban sa kanya.”
(“I’ll turn the tables on him and file the same charges back at him.”)
Atong Ang had already filed a complaint against Totoy at the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office. The list of accusations includes:
-
Attempted robbery with violence
-
Grave threats
-
Coercion (forcing someone to do something)
-
Slander (saying false and damaging things about someone)
-
Blaming innocent people for crimes
But Totoy isn’t backing down. In fact, he says Atong Ang was one of the masterminds behind the disappearance of the 34 sabungeros between 2021 and 2022. He also previously named actress Gretchen Barretto in the case — but both Ang and Barretto have strongly denied these claims.
A Huge Money Twist 💰
In response to the accusations, Atong Ang said that Patidongan tried to extort P300 million from him — meaning, Totoy supposedly tried to get money in exchange for silence or protection. Totoy, however, insists that Ang is hiding something.
What Happened to the Sabungeros?
The 34 cockfighting enthusiasts went missing, and police believe it may be connected to match fixing — a type of cheating where games are secretly arranged so certain people win. Authorities think these men were kidnapped because of cheating in games.
Complaint Against Police Officers 👮♂️
But there’s even more to the story. Totoy also said he will file a complaint against several police officers who may have been involved in the disappearances. He plans to go to the National Police Commission (Napolcom) on Monday to file this.
So far, 15 policemen are already being held at Camp Crame in Quezon City while the investigation continues.
Napolcom has started checking if any of the police officers had a role in the case and has asked Totoy to give an official complaint, which he says he is ready to do.
Are the Sabungeros Already Gone?
Totoy gave chilling information before: he claimed the missing sabungeros were already buried in Taal Lake in Batangas.
That led police to search the lake, including diving deep underwater.
During the searches, they found sacks filled with bones.
Now, experts are checking the bones to see:
-
If they are really human bones
-
And if they match the DNA of the missing men’s families
What Happens Next?
This case is full of drama, mystery, and serious accusations. On Monday, more truths may come out when Patidongan files his charges and gives his official complaint.
People all over the country are watching closely to see who’s really telling the truth, and what happened to the 34 missing sabungeros.
