PAL Opens New Cebu–Calbayog Flights Starting This October

Manila, Philippines — Big news for travelers! Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to open a brand-new direct route linking Cebu and Calbayog, Samar starting October 26, 2025.

The flights will run four times a week—every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

“This launch is a milestone,” said PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang. “It’s part of our mission to empower regional gateways like Cebu and bring people closer to opportunities.”

Why This Matters

For Samar locals, this means easier travel to Cebu’s bustling hub. For tourists, it opens doors to Calbayog’s hidden gems—its waterfalls, beaches, and warm community.

PAL, led by the Tan family, is putting Cebu at the heart of its growth strategy, betting big on the city’s role as a gateway to tourism and trade.

More Flights, More Choices

But that’s not all. PAL is also adding more flights via Cebu to some of the country’s most-loved destinations:

  • Siargao & Coron (Busuanga): now 3x daily

  • Bacolod: from 14 → 18 flights weekly

  • Butuan: from 7 → 11 flights weekly

  • Cotabato: from 2 → 3 flights weekly

  • Ozamiz: from 3 → 4 flights weekly

  • Tacloban: from 11 → 14 flights weekly

These upgrades mean better schedules, more flexibility, and easier connections for both business and leisure travelers.

Cebu as a Global Gateway

From Cebu’s Mactan International Airport, PAL already flies to Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul (Incheon), Tokyo (Narita), and Osaka. Now, with even more routes, the airline is turning Cebu into a true regional and international hub.

👉 In short: PAL isn’t just adding flights—it’s connecting lives, boosting tourism, and giving Cebu the spotlight it deserves.
