Mika Salamanca just dropped the official music video for her collab track “What If Tayo?” with Brent Manalo — and fans are loving its heartfelt best friends with secret feelings storyline.
The five-minute MV begins with Mika and Brent quietly exchanging glances at a park. As the story unfolds, the two are seen spending time together, their bond growing deeper with every scene.
In the middle of a cup-stacking game, Brent gathers the courage to open up. “Actually, matagal ko nang gustong aminin sa ’yo eh,” he says. Mika, smiling, replies: “Puwede naman.” But just as the moment builds, Brent pulls back, brushing it off as if nothing happened.
The tension rises when Mika suddenly speaks to him in Kapampangan: “Tumingin ka nga sa akin. Kahit saglit lang. May sasabihin ako.” She asks if he feels something for her. Brent admits he does — only to joke right after that it’s mostly a “headache” from her constant rants.
Still, the playful banter shifts into a touching scene at the park. Brent nervously asks, “What if one day you don’t want to be my best friend anymore?” Mika reassures him: “That won’t happen. I choose you every day.” Brent responds with a smile, “I also choose you all the time.”
Released on September 12, “What If Tayo?” marks Mika and Brent’s first music collab. But it’s not the first time fans have shipped them. Back in their Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition days, they were dubbed “MikBrent”, one of the season’s most loved duos. The pair eventually became the final duo — and won the Big Winner title.
Now, their chemistry is making waves again. And soon, fans will see more of them together in the much-awaited GMA and ABS-CBN collab series, “Secrets of Hotel 88.”
