Marcos Urges Filipinos to Give to the Poor on Christmas

Amid the joy, lights, and laughter of the Christmas season, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reminded Filipinos of a deeper purpose behind the celebration — to care for one another.

In his Christmas message on Thursday, the President called on the public not to forget those who are quietly struggling during the holidays.
The poor.
The sick.
Those affected by calamities.
And the marginalized.

As families gather around their tables and reunite with loved ones, Marcos urged Filipinos to open their hearts wider — especially to those in need of compassion and generosity.

“As we enjoy our gatherings, let us also remember those who are in most need of our compassion and generosity,” the President said.

He encouraged Filipinos to follow the example of Christ, not only by celebrating His birth, but by sharing blessings with others.

“Like Jesus who brought salvation to the world, let us share our abundance with the people around us,” Marcos added.

The President also highlighted the simple yet powerful acts that define the true spirit of Christmas — kindness, happiness, and goodwill.

“Let us bring kindness, happiness, and good cheer to everyone we meet,” he said, “especially to our children, for whom these festivities are really for.”

Beyond the season, Marcos challenged Filipinos to become a lasting source of light for others — not just during Christmas, but in the years ahead.

“I join the entire nation as we celebrate this joyful and blessed day,” he said, as he reflected on the birth of Christ and the many graces received throughout the year.

He noted that Christmas remains a uniquely special time for Filipinos — a season that brings families together and reminds everyone of life’s many blessings.

“Truly, no other occasion stirs a warmer and more festive spirit in all of us than the Filipino Christmas,” Marcos said.

A season of joy, yes —
but more importantly, a season of compassion, sharing, and hope.
