MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. must satisfactorily resolve the scam involving flood control projects to save his credibility, former Supreme Court associate justice Antonio Carpio said on Sunday.
Interviewed at the sidelines of the indignation rally at the Power People Monument in EDSA, Quezon City where thousands of people gathered, Carpio described the flood control scam as the biggest corruption scandal in the country.
Carpio claimed that the President vetoed only P29 billion in insertions.
Former Public Works and Highways secretary Manny Bonoan had said that the bicameral committee had approved P450 billion in insertions in the DPWH budget for 2025, Carpio said.
He said that investigations should identify those involved in anomalies and hold them accountable.
