Marcos gets well-wishes from sister Imee, Romualdez

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. received well-wishes from both his cousin, Speaker Martin Romualdez, and his sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, on his 68th birthday on Saturday.

In a statement, Romualdez said that his leadership has inspired “unity and resolve at a time when our nation faces both challenges and opportunities,” “Sa bawat hakbang ng Bagong Pilipinas, ramdam ng bawat Pilipino ang direksyon at kalinga na inyong itinataguyod (In every step of the New Philippines, Filipinos feel the direction and care that you established),” Romualdez added.

He also said that Congress remained “deeply honored” to work with him in pushing reforms that would improve lives, create jobs, and expand opportunities for all.

“The achievements of your administration – whether in infrastructure, digital transformation or social protection – are pillars that bring us closer to a nation that is stronger, fairer and more prosperous,” Romualdez said.

Meanwhile, his eldest sister only greeted him “Happy Birthday” in Ilocano through her Facebook page.

“Naragsak a panagkasangay, Bonget!,” Sen. Marcos said, referring to the president’s nickname.
