Marcos declared as adopted son of Camarines Sur

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was declared on Thursday as adopted son of the province of Camarines Sur.

Marcos is in the province for a series of events, including the groundbreaking ceremony of the housing project in Naga City.

In his speech, Governor Luigi Villafuerte said that declaring Marcos as an adopted son was a form of gratitude for what the latter has done for the province especially during calamities.

“That is why for all that you have done for the province of Camarines Sur, as a way of expressing our everlasting gratitude for all that you have done, please allow me to present to you the resolution by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Camarines Sur, declaring you, Mr. President, as the adopted son of Camarines Sur,” Villafuerte said.

“Mga Kapatid, gusto ko pong ipaalala sa inyo na kung hindi po kay dating Senador Bongbong Marcos na ngayon ang Pangulo ng ating bansa, nahati na po ang ating probinsya. Siya lang po ang kaisa-isang senador noon na nakipaglaban, nanindigan, para hindi mahati ang Camarines Sur,” he added.

(I want to remind you that because of former Senator Bongbong Marcos who’s now our President, our province remains undivided. He’s the only senator who maintained that Camarines Sur should not be divided.)

Camarines Sur is the home province of former Vice President Leni Robredo, Marcos’ closest rival for presidency in the 2022 election. They were also rivals during the 2016 vice presidential race. –VAL, GMA Integrated News.
