Marcos cancels US visit

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has cancelled his official visit to the United States to attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) scheduled for September 19 to 26, Malacañang said on Monday.

“Yes, confirmed. It’s cancelled,” Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dave Gomez said in a text message to reporters.

It was supposed to be Marcos’ second time participating in the UNGA, the first being in 2022 after he assumed office.
