LTO slaps 90-day suspension on rider in alleged attempt to molest passenger

The Land Transportation Office has imposed a 90-day preventive suspension on an motorcycle taxi rider who allegedly tried to molest his passenger in November.

In a statement, the LTO said that an investigation began after the victim filed a complaint through an online program about how she was allegedly almost molested in Barangay Manggahan on November 12.

While the attempt was unsuccessful, the rider allegedly took her mobile phone and wallet.

The rider was issued a Show Cause Order to appear at the LTO-National Capital Region where he will be investigated for several alleged offenses.

“This action is part of the investigation that we conducted as soon as we monitored this case on social media. He is now under investigation for at least three cases which could lead to the revocation of his license if found guilty,” said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza. —Jiselle Anne C.
