LTFRB: P445 million released to Libreng Sakay drivers, operators

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Monday said it has released around P445 million for the Phase 3 of the government’s service contracting program (SCP).

According to a report on “24 Oras,” the funding was distributed as payments for the sixth to 13th week service rendered by contracted bus drivers and operators under the “Libreng Sakay” or free ride program in Metro Manila.

The LTFRB assured it is already processing the payment covering the 14th week onward of the free bus ride program.

Around P7-billion was allocated for the SCP under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.–Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA News
