Liwliwa Beach Draws Crowds of Tourists This Holy Week

For many Filipinos, Holy Week is a time to pause.

To reflect.
To breathe.
To step away from the noise.

And this year… thousands found that quiet escape in one place — Liwliwa Beach in Zambales.

A beach filled with people — and purpose

From the moment Holy Week began, the crowd kept growing.

By Holy Wednesday… accommodations were already filling up fast.
By Good Friday… they were completely gone.

Every room. Every resort. Fully booked.

Out of around 150 resorts and hotels, not a single space was left for late arrivals.

Some tourists came hoping to find a place to stay — only to walk away searching elsewhere.

“Fully booked na,” confirmed the local tourism office.

It was that kind of crowd.

More than just a getaway

But Liwliwa isn’t just about the beach.

It’s about the feeling.

The calm of the waves.
The sound of the wind through Agoho trees.
The simple joy of slowing down.

Some came to reflect.
Others came to recharge.

Many… just wanted to feel something different.

Activities that bring the beach to life

For those craving adventure, Liwliwa offers more than just quiet moments.

Visitors can hop on a dragon boat ride — now priced at around ₱200 per person, slightly higher due to rising fuel costs.

ATV rides are also a crowd favorite, costing about ₱500 for 30 minutes of adrenaline.

Even with price increases, tourists didn’t hold back.

Because for many, the experience is worth it.

Keeping things fair

To manage the surge — and the rising costs — local officials stepped in.

Pricing for activities has now been standardized through an executive order.

It’s a move meant to keep things fair… for both tourists and business owners trying to keep operations running.

And so far, it’s working.

Why Liwliwa keeps pulling people in

There’s something different about Liwliwa.

It’s not flashy.
It’s not overly commercial.

It’s simple. Honest. Real.

Small resorts. Tight-knit communities.
A place where surfers, travelers, and dreamers all meet.

And perhaps most importantly — it’s affordable.

“Mura ang accommodations. Mura ang food,” shared a local resort leader.

That’s part of the magic.

A favorite for the new generation

Liwliwa has become a hotspot — especially for millennials and Gen Z.

Not just for the beach…

But for the vibe.

Instagram-worthy cafes.
Chill spots by the shore.
Sunsets that feel like they were made to be shared.

It’s a place where memories are made — and posted.

Close, easy… and hard to leave

Just two to four hours from Metro Manila, Liwliwa offers an easy escape.

Even for those on a budget, day tours make it possible to experience the beach without staying overnight.

No complicated plans.
Just go… and be there.

And the crowds keep coming

With Easter Sunday still ahead, the flow of visitors isn’t slowing down.

If anything… it’s only getting stronger.

Because in a world that feels fast, loud, and overwhelming…

Places like Liwliwa remind people of something simple:

Sometimes, all you need…
is the sea, the silence, and a moment to breathe.
