Laughter and Tears: Celebrating 31 Years of “Bubble Gang”
Get ready to roll with laughter, Kapuso viewers! “Bubble Gang,” the beloved comedy show, is hitting a remarkable milestone—its 31st anniversary! That’s right; this iconic show has been filling our screens with joy and humor for over three decades.
In a special report on “24 Oras” on Friday, actor Kokoy de Santos gave us a sneak peek into what to expect from the two-part anniversary special, set to air on October 18 and 25. “This is it, of course,” he exclaimed, blending Filipino and English. “The 31st anniversary of ‘Bubble Gang.’ Trendtay-uno! We’re going to revisit the things that trended this year.”
With that hint of excitement, Kokoy promised that “Bubble Gang” would put its unique spin on all of this year’s trends. “And wow,” he continued, “the guest lineup is explosive! There’s an international guest, and a former ‘Bubble’ cast member is making a comeback.” Can you feel the anticipation? We certainly can!
But wait, there’s more! Kokoy is stepping out of the comedy zone and diving into a dramatic role in the upcoming episode of “Magpakailanman,” titled “Pasang Kapatid Ko,” airing this Saturday. In this emotional tale, he stars alongside Jay Ortega, who portrays his younger brother.
Jay shared a glimpse into their compelling storyline: “My role here is Kokoy’s younger sibling. He supports our entire family, and there are some family members who are a burden, so that’s something to look out for.” He gave a hint that it would be a tear-jerker, promising viewers, “You’ll learn a lot from it.”
With heartfelt sincerity, Kokoy added, “This is for you—for my friends and for all the viewers who are breadwinners. This is for you.”
So, mark your calendars! “Bubble Gang” brings laughter every Sunday at 6:00 PM on GMA Network. And don’t miss the emotional rollercoaster that is “Magpakailanman” this Saturday.
