Kapuso Stars Rush to Help as Rains Worsen, Crisis Deepens

As strong rains, floods, and landslides continue to damage homes and hurt communities in the Philippines, Kapuso celebrities didn’t just stay safe indoors—they ran into action to help.

Despite the bad weather, several famous faces braved the rain and mud to join the GMA Kapuso Foundation’s relief operations. These stars rolled up their sleeves, packed supplies, and personally handed out food, water, and essentials to thousands of people whose lives were turned upside down by Typhoon Crising, the strong Habagat (monsoon rains), and a low-pressure area.

🎖️ Ronnie Liang, a singer and a proud Philippine Army reservist, was seen in San Mateo, Rizal, helping the foundation through its Operation Bayanihan project. He wasn’t alone—comedy star Tessbomb was right there with him, handing out supplies and offering comfort to families in crisis.

🗣️ “Answering the call of duty,” Ronnie said in a heartfelt Instagram post, showing he wasn’t just doing it for the cameras—he was there to serve.

📹 In a video shared by the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Ronnie also showed up in Rodriguez, Rizal, standing beside GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog, carrying heavy bags of relief goods and helping communities hit hard by the flooding.

But Ronnie wasn’t the only one who answered the call.

🎤 Kairo Lazarte and Johann Nepomuceno from the P-pop group Cloud 7 also joined in, showing that even young stars want to make a difference.

🙏 “We’re very thankful that we got the chance to help—even in small ways like handing out relief packs. We’re happy to be of service,” Kairo said, full of sincerity.

📸 Meanwhile, actor John Vic De Guzman and actress Tart Carlos joined the relief packing operations—preparing the much-needed supplies that would be sent to affected towns.

🕊️ “We raise our hearts to YOU. With your mercy, we ask for your protection and miracle. Amen,” John Vic wrote on social media, hoping for peace and strength for the victims.

The mission didn’t stop there.

💔 The GMA Kapuso Foundation also went to Valenzuela City and Quezon City, where many residents were hit hard by the endless rains and floods.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), over 1.4 million Filipinos have been affected so far. Families have lost homes, schools, and even loved ones. As of Wednesday, the number of deaths had climbed to seven, with fatalities reported in Northern Mindanao, MIMAROPA, Davao Region, Caraga, and Metro Manila.

🌧️ And the worst might not be over. PAGASA warned that more rains could come in the next few days, especially as tropical storm Dante and tropical depression Emong are making the monsoon even stronger.

But in the middle of this dark and stormy time, the kindness of Kapuso stars and everyday heroes is shining through.
