Kai Sotto is leaving Ateneo to pursue his goal of playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
The 7-foot-1 wunderkind announced on his Instagram account Monday that he will devote all of his time training for the American pro basketball league.
He added that after all things considered, this is the best way of turning this aspiration into a reality.
The 16-year-old standout thanked the people who helped him in his journey and promised that he will work hard to make the country proud.
The minimum age for entering the NBA Draft is 19 years old
Sotto played an integral role for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets for two seasons, including a title run in 2018. In the same year, he also suited up for Batang Gilas which he helped book a spot in the FIBA Under 19 World Cup, the first time since 1979.
