What John Lloyd, Sarah missed about each other
MANILA – It has been years since Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz last worked together, and the lead stars of the upcoming movie “Finally Found Someone” were honest in confessing what they missed about each other.
In an interview on Friday, Geronimo said that in simplest terms she missed Cruz’s presence and just seeing him happy.
“Makita ko lang siya na masaya, masaya na rin ako. What a joy kapag nakikita ko siyang masaya at nayayakap ko siya na OK ang lahat, masaya ang lahat.”
Cruz acknowledged that he also missed being around Geronimo and what her presence does to him.
“Ako iyong presence and iyong nadudulot ng presence niya. Mahilig siya mag-create ng confusion. Ako happy na ako makita ko lang siya. Iba iyong pagtingin ko na fan. I love watching her on stage pero masarap din siya panoorin backstage o kaya kapag hindi siya nagpe-perform,” he explained.
After four years being apart, both also shared their new realizations about each other when they reunited for this project.
For Geronimo, she said Cruz has become “moody,” a personality which she did not see in him when they worked on their first three movies.
“Ang moody niya. Kasi iyong two movies, lagi ko lang siyang nakikitang naka-ngiti. Iyong third, noong umpisa hindi pa kami nag-uusap, pero noong nag-shoot na kami, noong OK na iyong script, masaya na ulit. This time, sobra siyang intense, as in. Sensitive so intindihin na lang,” she said.
Cruz explained that he turned into a “moody” person only because he has become very particular when it comes to his career.
“Lahat tayo, we all work a certain way and iyon nga, parang iyon ang na-develop ko. Over the years, parang iyon na ang alam ko kung paano ako magtrabaho. Minsan OK, minsan hindi ka nage-gets ng tao,” he said.
Sharing his own observation, Cruz said of Geronimo: “Ngayon ko lang na-realize na ang boyish niya.”
During a press conference for their movie held on the same day, Cruz only had kind words to describe how Geronimo has matured as an actress.
“Medyo may pagka self-deprecating si Sarah. Hindi niya alam na maganda siya. Hindi niya alam na magaling siya, parang ayaw niyang maniwala which I think is actually amusing. It adds more beauty to her personality. There’s one scene talaga na I was totally blown away. Siguro for that scene alone, kailangan niyo mapanood ang pelikulang ito. Take one lang iyon,” he said.
Directed by Theodore Boborol, “Finally Found Someone” will premiere in cinemas nationwide on July 26.
A full trailer was released, introducing Geronimo’s character as April, who found herself heartbroken after being left at the altar. She later met Raffy (Cruz), who will “help her find her happy ending.”
