Famous actress Jennylyn Mercado admitted that when her longtime partner Dennis Trillo proposed to her, she had doubts about his true intentions. She wondered if he was only asking her to marry him because she was pregnant.
During an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last Friday, Jennylyn opened up about her feelings at that time.
“At first, Tito Boy, I was already pregnant when Dennis proposed. So my first thought was, ‘Is he only marrying me because I’m pregnant?’ I asked him that,” Jennylyn shared, her voice filled with emotion.
Dennis, who was also present during the interview, lovingly looked at Jennylyn as she recalled that moment.
“Did you propose to me just because I was pregnant?” Jennylyn remembered asking Dennis.
Dennis’ Loving Response
Dennis quickly reassured Jennylyn that his love for her was real and had nothing to do with the pregnancy.
“That was not the reason at all. Even before we got married, before the pandemic, we already treated each other like husband and wife,” Dennis explained.
Host Boy Abunda then asked Dennis if he understood why Jennylyn had these doubts.
“Yes, I completely understand where she was coming from,” Dennis replied.
He then explained that while he always showed his love for Jennylyn, he knew that for women, assurance and security are very important in a relationship.
“I think she already knows how much I love her because of my actions. But of course, every woman needs assurance and the feeling of security from their partner,” Dennis said.
A Happy Ending
Despite her initial doubts, Jennylyn and Dennis’ love for each other remained strong. They eventually got married in 2021 and welcomed their beautiful baby, Dylan, in May 2022.
Now, they are happily living their lives as a family, proving that their love is more than just a piece of paper—it’s real, deep, and unconditional. ❤️
